Domestic Violence Resource Center

The mission of the Domestic Violence Resource Center is to support and empower survivors and their children who are affected by domestic violence.

Bottom Line for Portland

The Domestic Violence Resource Center (DVRC) provides free and confidential supportive services to survivors of domestic violence. Support services offered by DVRC include advocacy, counseling, emergency shelter (Monika's House), transitional housing (Mary Mac House), permanent housing (Sojourner's House), community education/training, and a 24/7 crisis line. In 2022, we responded to 5,469 crisis calls, created 1,168 safety plans, held 1,681 individual counseling sessions, and provided 5,040 safe nights for survivors in our shelters.

“I am so grateful for my case manager. Everytime I reached out to her she would always message me back. She never left me hanging. She gave me support through this process and now I know that I don't have to do this alone." -Survivor in Sojourner's House

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Domestic violence does not discriminate and affects millions of people each year. At DVRC, we remain committed to serving ALL survivors of domestic violence regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, religion, economic status, or education level. DVRC works to break down service barriers by providing culturally specific and bilingual services to survivors.
