The Lund Report
Mission
The Lund Report is an independent, nonpartisan news service that exists to produce high-quality journalism about health care in Oregon and southwest Washington.
Our public-service journalism promotes the awareness and understanding required for positive progress, while holding industry and government accountable. We bring to light the underlying dynamics of health care that affect patients, practitioners and the public, spotlighting disparities and inequities in the system.
Bottom Line for Portland
Health care impacts everyone, but it’s a system that can be as opaque as it is complex. Our reporters translate the jargon, follow the money trail and spotlight pressing issues to foster transparency and empower the public. As so many Oregonians struggle with health care costs and the state grapples with a crisis in addiction and mental health, our reporters’ expertise has never been more important.
Quote
“The Lund Report, known for intrepid, insightful healthcare coverage, goes where Northwest legacy media organizations seldom ventured even in their heyday. Its recently upgraded website is the region’s indispensable, authoritative source for health care news, breaking stories that other sites follow. The Lund Report depends on donors and subscribers to produce vital, high-quality journalism to a growing audience in Oregon, southwest Washington and beyond.”
— Richard Read, two-time Pulitzer Prize winner, veteran foreign correspondent and reporter for The Oregonian and The Los Angeles Times, and Lund Report board member
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
The Lund Report and its sister organization, the Oregon Health Forum, are committed to continually bringing to light the disparities and inequities prevalent in the health care system. Through reporting that highlights racism and discrimination in medicine and industry-focused health forums that facilitate important discussions around addressing these issues at their roots, our work helps make health care more equitable for all Oregonians.
