Mission

Create positive, lasting change to ensure every horse is safe, healthy and valued by caring for neglected, abused and at-risk equines, providing leadership, support and education to owners, the community and law enforcement.

Donations provide our rescue horses lifesaving care and allows our team to assist with urgent requests to save horses suffering from neglect and abuse. Each horse in our care receives specialized veterinary treatment, rehabilitation and training to prepare them for a loving, permanent home. Together, we can end equine suffering and create a brighter future for horses in our community.

Sound Equine Options also supports our community during natural and manmade disasters. In fall 2020 many parts of Oregon were devastated by wildfire. We assisted by organizing evacuation efforts that moved hundreds of horses, and by setting up an emergency shelter that housed up to 60 horses at a given time. We also gathered and distributed feed and supplies, and once homes were declared safe, helped transport horses home.
