PDXWIT

BIPOC-Led Organization

Mission

We are building a better tech industry by creating access, dismantling inequities and fueling belonging.

Bottom Line for Portland

Technology is shaping our future. It’s up to us to make sure that it’s an equitable future for all. At PDXWIT, our programming is designed to empower Portland tech professionals to offer community and skill-building events, mentorship for professionals and students, scholarships, and access to job opportunities.

The tech industry is a pathway into economic empowerment for people from historically marginalized communities, but only if they can thrive once they’re there. Our programming is designed to empower current and aspiring tech professionals, and we partner with organizations that share our values of anti-oppression and intersectionality.

Quote

“I have witnessed how my company's diversity and community has been positively impacted by our relationship with PDXWIT. We have found many great new employees from far more diverse backgrounds than when I started with the company 6.5 years ago. It has had a positive impact on our office culture, has brought new and innovative voices to our company, and has made other company offices look to us for what our "secret sauce" is. (hint: partnerships with organizations like PDXWIT)”

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

While our events and programming are open to all, we have dedicated affinity spaces for professionals who identify as BIPOC, Native American, LGBTQ+, Neurodiverse, and over 50.
