Path Home

Mission

Path Home's mission is to empower families with children to get back into housing and stay there.

Bottom Line for Portland

Last year, Path Home helped 524 families through programs designed to help them move from crisis to stability:

Path Home’s Prevention Program offers flexible assistance to families at risk of eviction so that parents and kids never have to experience the trauma of homelessness. At our Family Village shelter, the first family shelter in Oregon designed using trauma-informed design and architecture, 96% of families who stay in shelter move back into permanent housing, and the average length of stay is only 87 days. Our Housing First Program helps families move back into homes as quickly as possible and provides the long-term, loving support they need to keep their housing long term - 87% of families keep housing for good.

Please make a gift today to build dignity, restore power, and promote autonomy for local kids and their families.

Quote

“I was down on my knees when I found Path Home. The day I decided to go to shelter, it changed my life forever. I literally had open arms to take care of every single need that me and my children had. Now I'm in a beautiful two-bedroom, one-bath townhouse with a little yard, and my kids have a safe place.” - Sherry, former Path Home guest

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

One of the root causes of homelessness is the effect of institutional racism and discrimination against communities of color. As such, Path Home intentionally strives to be an anti-racist organization where all staff and families we serve feel a sense of inclusion and belonging. At Path Home, 73% of the families we serve are BIPOC. In reflection of those we serve, more than half—52%—of Path Home’s employees identify as BIPOC, 48% identify as LGBTQIA+, 47% have lived experience of homelessness, and 37% have a disability.
