Our Just Future (formerly Human Solutions)

BIPOC-Led Organization

Mission

Our Just Future (formerly Human Solutions) counters the forces that keep people and communities in poverty by building relationships and assets that create opportunity – today and for future generations. East Portland and wider Multnomah County is the heart of our investments, advocacy, and programs.

Bottom Line for Portland

While much work remains to solve our homelessness and housing crises, our team is working successfully with folks every day to get and stay housed. Prevention is critical work so families can avoid the trauma of homelessness. Last year, Our Just Future helped 300 people move from homelessness to stable housing, and 87% are still housed a year later. We also advocate for systemic policy changes to end homelessness and housing insecurity for good.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Racial justice is at the forefront of our work. As a social-services and affordable-housing provider in one of the most racially diverse areas of our state, Our Just Future has a responsibility to counter the racial injustices that are foundational to America’s inequitable housing and economic systems. Our personal and organizational work toward justice, equity and inclusion is essential to how we show up, especially in our efforts to deliver equitable results for BIPOC and create a connected community where everyone is valued and has access to the tools they need to thrive.

Partner(s)

We would like to thank Colas Construction, longtime partners who build affordable housing in our region, serving their mission to build legacies and strengthen communities.
