Neighborhood Partnerships
Mission
NP works with communities most impacted by racial, housing, and economic injustice to power transformative, liberatory change through organizing, policy advocacy, and narrative change.
Bottom Line for Portland
Neighborhood Partnerships is focused on addressing Portland’s greatest challenges: (1) homelessness and (2) the dramatically increasing wealth gap.
Each year, over 650 new low-income Oregonians receive financial support, as we typically reach 4,000 Oregonians at a time.
In tandem, we continually help pass policy and resource allocations that directly support more affordable housing options—including over $1 billion in the last two years—for those experiencing homelessness in and around the Portland metro area.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
NP centers equity and the impacts of intersectional identities across race, ethnicity, ability, age, citizenship, class, gender, and sexuality to maintain focus on dismantling the structures of white supremacy.
This begins internally: 61.53% of our staff (up 50% in two years) and 46% of our Board are BIPOC (up 30% in two years). Our dedication to our own internal DEI practices shows up in our work in the community: we build advocacy coalitions that are led by historically marginalized Oregonians to change systems rooted in white supremacy.
