Mainspring
Mission
Mainspring addresses economic hardship, including food insecurity for families and seniors.
Bottom Line for Portland
Mainspring will always be a voice that advocates for change, promotes awareness, and forms alliances with the local community. We are an organization dedicated to offering equality and all-inclusive services. In 2022, we distributed 1.1 million pounds of food, 73,582 pounds of clothing which served 83,641 individuals. We think that there should never be a barrier between access to resources and the people who need them.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Mainspring creates resource opportunities in a multidimensional way that is always evolving. We organize a safe space and endeavor to improve the Portland community's quality of life through expanded resources through our mobile destination food pantries, Mainsprings clothing pantry dubbed Re-Thread Clothing Services, and harm reduction tools. We believe that everyone should be allowed to shop with dignity and without cost, and that by working together, we can give people hope and a sense of belonging to a community.
