Family Promise of Metro East
Mission
Our mission: Family Promise Metro East helps children and their families experiencing houselessness achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response.
Our Vision: A community where all families have equitable access to housing and the chance to build a better future.
Bottom Line for Portland
We all know it, we need more shelter in Portland. Family Promise of Metro East mobilizes churches, businesses, volunteers, and community-based organizations to provide shelter, meals, and other support for homeless children and their families in the East Portland Metro area. We partner this volunteer energy with professional case management to help families get back into permanent housing.
Quote
"It didn't matter who I was, what I've been through, or why I was there. It mattered that I was Krystal and these are my kids and you wanted to be there for me." - Family Promise Graduate
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
It is impossible to separate systemic and structural racism from the reality that people of color are disproportionately affected by homelessness and poverty. We acknowledge this and are committed to providing training and support for our volunteers and staff to address diversity, equity, and inclusion in our work.
