Mission

To empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

Bottom Line for Portland

Supporting women in the labor force is fundamental to the health and social development of families and the economy as a whole, especially after Covid-19. And by championing Dress for Success Oregon, you are championing equal access to critical resources for women such as access to transportation, computers, and workwear clothing as well as job preparation support, career advancement opportunities, as well as hands-on guidance on topics such as financial growth, workplace navigation, employer benefits and wellness topics from subject matter experts in our community. By investing in our mission, you are investing in our economy's potential and in doing so, helping establish a community where both women and gender expansive people as well as their families have the potential to live safe, enriched and healthy lives.

Quote

"As a single mom who is currently still supporting my daughter in virtual learning, there are things that I’m not able to do or afford to care for myself. It was so great to have an organization like Dress for Success Oregon to come along and fill the gap where it was needed at the right time."

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

After completing a 2-year DEI audit in 2019, Dress for Success Oregon remains committed to promoting and advancing DEI in our organizational culture and in our program activities. We strive always to provide greater access to our programs; to seek community and client feedback and adjust our programmatic work accordingly; and to provide trauma-informed support through an intersectional approach to feminism and anti-racist lens. We also proudly serve all women-identifying and gender expansive individuals and continue to ensure that the clothing and resources that we offer reflects our commitment to supporting clients across the gender spectrum.
