Mission

APANO unites Asians and Pacific Islanders to build power, develop leaders, and advance equity through organizing, advocacy, community development, and cultural work.

Bottom Line for Portland

For more than 25 years, APANO has worked to unite Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders in the pursuit for social justice in Oregon. Our communities are vast and diverse, and we bring our community voices to the forefront to create the solutions we need for safe neighborhoods, quality schools, affordable housing, affordable childcare, climate justice and many other issues.

Quote

"I think leadership is when things happen. I feel like people actually trust me so I try to do what I can do for the community.  For long term work people are impressed in the community, because I work with APANO they trust me and trust APANO." Wanna Lei, APANO Chinese Community Organizer
